Nice set of Mahogany Gon Bops on ebay, no reserve

Here is a clean set of tubs.

A very nice set of Vintage Gon bops in mahogany...

They were purchased at the same time by the seller, new from a music shop in the early 80's. The drums were made in 1980 and 1979, hence the two different lables.. its like a time capsule telling us when they went to the larger lables. I always knew it was around 1980, but here is the evidence.



The side plates, which look like the are the original hardware, must have been a new design that was quickly discontinued. Probably because they looked too much like Valje sideplates. They look very functional, and i do like the look of the shape on these drums. These drums are 100% gon bops, thats for sure.

this set has those sweet smooth bands, i think look so much nicer than the ones with the raised ridge in the middle. Its uncommon to see a set with all the bands, must have been well cared for... they look immaculate.

There is no reserve, who knows, might be a very good deal for these tubs...
