Gon Bops congas restoration - Zydeco Flames in Napa

Hey all,

Had a fun time in Napa, of all places...

Last night there was a zydeco festival downtown.

We danced to Zydeco Flames, one very tight and professional band that must gig ALL the time!
These cats had such a solid groove.

... finished up the set of Gon Bops congas and will be giving them back to the lucky owner this week. They sound very nice and look almost mint. Not bad for 30 year old drums. Here is the 'after' pic.

If anyone is interested in the process of rebuilding or refinishing these old drums, comment me, and i will include more detail about the projects.

Off to a Rumba in Oakland today. I know most of the top players will be there, so should be fun!
